Apr 10,2022: Personal Medical Information

An observation came from a Member this week that they were uncomfortable about being asked about the reason for their sick day or details about medical appointments.

To be clear, the Union has no power to stop someone from asking you a question. However, you must decide whether or not you wish to divulge that information. If you feel that any medical information asked of you is of concern to you regarding your personal privacy, it is up to you to make that determination & state it as such. You are under no obligation to disclose personal medical information for any reason but it is only you that can make that determination.

If you refuse to divulge personal medical information & a member of management attempts to discipline you for that action, the Union then has cause to intervene.

 

Feb 13,2022: District Sick Leave Entitlement

Each Local 520 Member should have received the confirmation of their Sick Leave Entitlement accumulated credit as of Jan 04, 2022.

Check your accumulated credit, as errors are not uncommon. If there is a discrepancy between your records & those of the District, contact CCSD HR with any concerns.

 

Feb 13,2022: COVID endemic period

As we move into the endemic period of COVID-19, please begin to be aware that the District Supervisors will likely increase their attention to absenteeism rates. The Caretaking working group fared very well over the course of the pandemic & you are all to be applauded. However, as we move towards normalcy, so will the District wide averages of absenteeism upon which the District’s Absenteeism System protocols are based.

Please look after you health & well being while being aware of your overall workplace attendance.
