Mar 13,2022: Bargaining Proposals
Thank you to all the Members that attended our March RMM. We have presented, voted on, & passed our package of Bargaining Proposals & will now proceed with Bargaining sessions with the employer. Our new National Rep Dustin Withers will be in contact with District management to coordinate bargaining dates as soon as the approved package is ready to exchange with the District.
Thanks to all for their input & vote on this important item.
Despite COVID-19, we are currently only slightly behind the schedule we normally experience in bargaining a new Collective Agreement & are hopeful that we can get through all of the non-monetary items quickly to put us back on a normal bargaining trajectory.
Mar 01,2022: March Meetings
*We have an important item that we cannot move forward without quorum & Membership vote. We will be reviewing our Bargaining Proposals & seeking ratification of same from the Membership before going into negotiations with the District. It is extremely important that we have enough attendance this month in order to move these items forward.*
Our monthly Executive Meeting will be Saturday March 12 at 8am.
Our monthly Regular Membership Meeting will be Saturday March 12 at 930am.
New Members please arrive at 9am for registration.
We currently have a vacancy on the Executive for Social Chair. Nominations & elections will be held each RMM for those interested until the position is filled.
In order to run for Executive positions, you must be a Member in Good Standing having attended 6 of the last 10 RMMs held (including the RMM in which you choose to accept the nomination). Due to issues with COVID & overall attendance, the “10 meetings” in consideration stretch all the way back to September of 2020.
Coffee & snacks will be available during the meeting.
Our cash draw sits at $140 this month, PLUS draws for other Local 520 swag.
Please make time to take care of the business of your Union. It’s only once per month, 10 times per year, for a couple of hours (including your travel time).
We literally cannot do it without you.
See the Homepage of this website for all meeting details.
Dec 09,2020: Bargaining Update
Some of you will have already received our latest Bargaining Update via mail. If not, it should be arriving shortly.
It is also available below.
Sep 20,2020: CUPE Local 520 Bargaining Survey Report
The results from this year’s Bargaining Survey have been compiled & are now available for access in the Members section.
Much thanks to our CUPE National Rep James Yang for his knowledge & work on this item on behalf of Local 520.
We are compiling suggestions from Members & the results of the report into our Bargaining position. We will be heading into Bargaining sessions soon.
Your CUPE Local 520 Bargaining Committee consists of the 4 Table Officers (Pres / VP / Treasurer / RecSec), as well as our National Rep.
