Jun 04,2022: Local 520 Retirement/Scholarship Celebration
Today was a great day to catch up with many of our 2022 Retirees. Several Retirees & family representatives of the 2021 Scholarship Winner arrived at Jameson’s Pub & enjoyed socializing with old acquaintances.

For those who could not make it, your items can be picked up at the Union Hall this Saturday (June 11) during our June RMM & election or will be sent out this upcoming week by registered mail.
May 30,2022: Congratulations Retirees & Scholarship Winner!
This Saturday the current sitting Executive Members will once again gather for our traditional pre-election Last Supper after a 2 year COVID hiatus.
As we were unable to plan a retirement banquet with any certainty we would be permitted to proceed, our 2022 Retirees have been invited to be honoured on that evening as well.

Apr 11,2021: Upcoming Scholarship Application Opportunities for Members
Besides the CUPE Local 520 Scholarship being open for application until August 31 (details in the Members section of this website), there are other scholarships for your consideration as a Member in Good Standing of Local 520.
The CDLC (Calgary District Labour Council) accepts applications until June 1 as below:

THE CUPE LOCAL 520 YEARLY POST-SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIP…
…is open for applications, with each year’s applications due no later than August 31.
The Local 520 yearly $1400 scholarship is open to Members or children of Members who are attending any accredited post-secondary institution.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER MIDNIGHT ON AUGUST 31 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Applications received near the deadline need to be complete with all required components submitted by midnight on August 31.
There is always an entire year in which to apply. Accepting late applications is unfair to those Members who apply in a timely manner.
